T. Forsha was born April 14, 1840, at Springfield, Indiana. He moved when a small boy to Penn, Ind., and from there to Ohio. At the age of 21 he enlisted in CO. D 40th regiment, Ohio Infantry for 90 days. The 9th day of October 1861 reenlisted for a term of three years. He was paroled and discharged the 14th day of Nov. 1864. thus giving three years and six months of heroic service for his country, for its union and for liberty. He was a member Beetle Post, Hardy. He came to Kansas in 1871, and homesteaded in Jewell county 1871. He was married to Eva Dominy, Oct. 4, 1883. To this union were born ten children, three died infancy. His wife, seven children, twelve grandchildren, one brother, W. H. Forsha of Los Angeles, Calif and a sister, Mrs. N. R. Babcock of Gourtland, Kansas, live to hold sacred his memory. The deceased departed this life Wednesday, August 27, 1924, age 81 years, 4 months and 13 days. “And thou shall go to thy father in peace, thou shall be buried in a good old age." Gen. 15:15. Funeral services at the home Friday, Aug. 29, at 4 pm by Rev. John Thomas. Service at the grave by the American Legion.
