Funeral services were held in the Julien Chapel in Olathe Monday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Sears Riepma, who was pastor of the First Presbyterian church here form 1913 to 1919. That was in the period when the Beauchamp family lived in Olathe and were members of the Presbyterian church here. Miss Beauchamp's father, an army chaplin in the Civil War, taught Sunday school class at the Olathe church. He was a member of the township board for a time. Laura Beauchamp, daughter of the late William and Josephine [Flora] Beauchamp, was born Dec. 12, 1861, at Prairieville,(sic, Perrysville) Ind. She was a resident of Olathe for many years and for the last few years she made her home in Altamont, Kans. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. William Rickenrode of Maryville, Mo., and Mrs. C.H. Ballentine, Branson, Mo.; two nieces, Mrs. R. E. Clegg, Columbus, Kans., and Miss Veda Rankin, Paola; two nephews, Don Rankin, Chanute, and H. W. Ambrose, Kansas City, Kans., and a cousin, William Beauchamp, Kansas City, Mo. Interment was in the Olathe City cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Stewart, Roy Cornwell, Clyde Ewing, Sam Lorimer, Newell Barbour and Ray Kaster. "The Lord's Prayer" was sung at the services by Mrs. Paul Booth, accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Branson. Additional Comments: Laura was first of five daughters born to William BEAUCHAMP & Josephine (Flora) BEAUCHAMP, maternal grandparents John & Amanda (Lentz) FLORA of Indiana ---, paternal grandparents David & Dorthy BEAUCHAMP of Indiana, niece to Volney Pulaski, Daniel Rice Boon and John Andrew FLORA each having lived in Kansas, and Josiah & Margaret (Flora) BEAUCHAMP of Missouri. Lived in Indiaa, Missouri, Olathe, KS and in Topeka with father till his 1928 death.
