The three children stayed with maternal grandmother, Harriet Sterling Shults, till their father got settled down, with Will remaining with her until ca 1885.    Father, John Andrew, married widow Adda (Crawford) Smith, with two surviving children, moving to Oswego, Labette (formerly Neosho) county, Kansas, ca1878.    Clarence met Alice Kingsburry while she visited relatives in Oswego and were married ca 1890. Her mother was Mary (Wallick) Kingsbury, married Frank E Kingsbury in Miami county, Indiana in 1869, 1880 census has her living with, music teaching sister, Elmira (Wallick) Carrier in Batavia, Illinois. Both were aunts to my maternal grandmother, Maude Wallick, also from Chicago area in 1892. Clarence didn't sign guest book at brother Will's wedding August 1892 in Carthage, Jasper county, Missouri(ah), nor was he mentioned in the 1922 obituary of brother William.    Clarence's store in Coffeyville, Montgomery county, Kansas burnt a couple months before his first wife Alice Kingsbury died 6 August 1892 at age 20. She's buried at Oswego cemetery. (It was but a couple months later, October 1892 when the Dalton Gang rode into Coffeyville to rob C M Condon Bank and First Nat Bank, ).     Second marriage occurred 27 October 1895 with 19 y/o Pearl E Sawyer of Cherryvale, Kansas, http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/montgomery/newspapers/weddinga293nw.txt daughter of 1880 councilman N B Swayer, in Cherryvale, who may also have died ---- for his third and last marriage was by Rev S S Estey to 22 y/o Stella L Cavert, http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/montgomery/newspapers/marriage292nw.txt tuesday evening, 1 December 1898, in home of parents, Mr & Mrs J G Cavert), Independence, Montomery county, Kansas.    1900 census has him "Merchant" -- "Tailor", married to "Della"(Stella) (1876KS-1926OK).    He and Bob Kincaid, s/o 1st Mayor of Cherryvale, Honorable C C Kincaid http://www.kancoll.org/books/cutler/montgomery/montgomery-co-p13.html (KINCAID), had Independence Shirt Co. and by 1902 he owned his own shirt factory.    Stella and Clarence bore two known sons, Carl Morton (1904KS-1973WI), Clarence Cavert (1906KS-1998OK).    Family moved "Flora Shirt Company" to Oklahoma City, in 1911 (formerly Indian Territory since 1828, our 48th state created 16 November 1907), where both were active in civic and church affairs, he a deacon of First Presbyterian church.    Seems strange to me that Clarence was not mentioned in brother's, Dr William Walter Flora, Colorado Springs 1922 obituary, --- very strange indeed!    Clarence died 1924, Stella in 1926, both are at rest in Fairlawn Cemetery's Mausoleum, Oklahoma City. http://files.usgwarchives.net/ok/oklahoma/obits/def/f4600038.txt    His surviving family were remebered by sister, Harriette Amanda (Flora) Gray, in her 1956 will.    First son, Carl Morton Flora, died near Milwalkee, Wisconsin and had at least one son, Morton Cavert who passed away in South Carolina.    Second son, Clarence Cavert Flora, had at least two daughters and two sons, his obituary: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ok/oklahoma/obits/def/f4600036.txt File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/labette/bios/flora133bs.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 4.7 Kb
