To get there, turn east from hwy 169 onto hwy 133. Go a few miles until you go over Bender's Mound, a large hill marked by a Kansas Historical Marker. After you go over the hill, turn south onto a gravel road. Go one mile. Turn east. Go 1/4 mile to the cemetery. Continued good luck with this project! as >From the main entrance, walk down the main lane about halfway. Near the lane on the east side you will find a stone which has a large dark red peony plant growing right out of the base of it, usually in full beautiful bloom at Memorial Day: MOTHER FATHER ALICE C. JOSEPH R., SR. 1855-1915 1849-1922 7-23 1-18 6-21 1-14 AT REST DARLING Near them is a small light pink granite stone slightly larger than and shaped like a brick: VIRGIL C. SON OF C. & E.M. DARLING JAN.7,1915 JUNE 19, 1915 On the other side of Alice and Joseph are: HENSON SON OF J.R. & ALICE DARLING and this one: I have gone to Buelah land STELLA LUELLA Dau. of J.R. & A.C. Darling BORN JAN. 22, 1879 DIED MAR. 18, 1885 Next to them are two more stones, one is large and red granite, and very similar to the stone of J.R. and Alice in size, shape and color: DARLING LEWIS E. 1885 ----- 1921 3.7 10.8 GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Next to Lewis is a small, white stone at the base of a large yucca plant: EVERETT E. 1919 --- 1919 Near Lewis, moving on up the main lane away from the front fence, and nearer to the lane itself are two slender square-shaped, very pointed, grey stones, with bases they stand about 3 feet tall, with carvings of doves at the top. These are inscribed: ERNEST H. Son of D.H. & B.A. DARLING BORN Nov. 15 (18?), 1899 DIED Mar. 15, 1900 (08?) AGED 1Y. 3M. 22D. NARINE Dau. of D.H. & B.A. DARLING BORN & DIED MAR. 13(?), 1908 Continuing on down the main lane of the cemetery away from the front gate, near the lane, one will find a small black granite stone, then four graves in a row, all with full length capstones. These are: INFANT SON OF W.C. & NELLIE DARLING Born & Died Dec. 24, 1896 Wm. C. DARLING DEC - 20 JAN - 8 1867 1934 NELLIE S. DARLING OCT - 5 OCT - 16 1872 1939 JOHN H. COPELAND NOV. 7 APRIL 29 1911 1988 W. NELLIE COPELAND NOV. 10 OCT 1 1912 1996 (Nellie's maiden name was Darling) Across the cemetery to the west is one more Darling grave, not too far from the western lane of the cemetery: MERRILL L.
