She and her estimable husband having resided on the same corner of the street for the past 40 years. "Aunt Jennie" as she was familiarly called by all the old neighbors, was a women of sterling worth and a good Christian women, a member of the Baptist church. She and her husband were pioneer hotel proprietors and the Star hotel was for years the prominent hotel of this city ~ ~ the headquarters of all the prominent lawyers and politicians of the '70's and '80's.    Her home was also the scene of all the early Sunday School and College banquets of the boy's classes of the Presbyterian church. Many happy hours have been spent in her home by the young people of this city. She resided alone in this home during the past three years since death of her husband, preferring to live among memories of the past than to go to the home of her son M C , where she would be among strangers. Monie provided her with every comfort and visited the old home almost weekly, never passing through the city on his train without calling upon his mother or talking to her over the phone.    She leaves one son Monie C Shipley, conductor on the Frisco, two sisters, Mrs J A Flora of this city; Mrs Dolly Johnson of St Louis, and two brothers, Mr Harry Crawford, of Pittsburg, Indiana, and Mr John Crawford of Terre Haute, Indiana, besides many other relatives to mourn the loss.    Her last illness was of short duration although she had been feeling poorly for the past three or four months.   The funeral services will be conducted by Rev J B Hunt, from the home this (Friday) afternoon at two o'clock, and the remains laid to rest beside her husband in the Oswego cemetery. Additional Comments: Sistr Addie and husband John A Flora buried in her plot. Copy from Kim Baker.
