When 16 years of age she joined the Methodist church and remained a member until her death, which occurred November 28, 1906. She was 85 years, 10 months, and 22 days old. At the age of 20 years she married Samuel Davis, who preceded her in death 18 years. She died his widow. As a result of this union 7 children were born, viz: Elizabeth, Hulda, Yeager, Samuel, Louie, Nealie, Grant, only 3 of whom survive her - viz: Elizabeth, Yeager and Nealie. At the time of her death she had 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Her early life was spent on the frontier and she underwent her share of hardships. After the death of her husband, which occurred at Rosita, Colo, she could be satisfied to remain at no one place, but visited her children at their different places of abode until her physical condition forced her to select her last home on earth, which she did with her son, Charles Yeager Davis, of this town. On the 4th day of January, 1905, while crossing the street, she fell and broke her left hip, and from that date until her death he was a helpless invalid. She bore her suffering with a patient and christian sprit and passed to the world beyond as one going to sleep. Funeral services were conducted at the home at 3 p.m. Thursday [November 29], the attendance being large, for the deceased had many warm friends. The burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery."
