Margaret McMichael

Mrs. Margaret McMichael wife of Thomas H McMichael, died Sunday night at the 
age of 80 years.  Organic heart disease was the cause of death.  The funeral 
was held from the home (of Alvin McMichael).  Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Jay C 
Hanna and Rev H.C. Bradbury conducted the services.

Margaret Jane Ewing was born May 15, 1832 at Jamestown, PA where she grew to 
womanhood.  She was married to Thos H McMichael in 1853.  To them were born 
seven children.  Four are living.  Matthew of Plainville, KS, Oscar at Quenemo 
KS, and A.E. at Lincoln, KS. and John at Detriot, Michigan.

The family moved from PA to Lincoln county, KS in 1886.  With the exception of 
six years in her later life, this continued to be her home until the time of 
her death.

In the days of her youth she gave herself to Christ and became a member of the 
United Presbyterian church.  On coming to Kansas she along with her husband 
became a member of the Presbyterian church to which she was ever faithful and 
loyal.

She passed through a lingering sickness of seven months.  During this time she 
realized that to depart and be with Christ is far better.  Sabbath evening May 
11 she departed this life, age 80 years, 11 months and 26 days.
