She was born in Crawford County, PA, September 1869. The family came to this county in 1886. She entered a school in Topeka soon after and joined a Congregational Church there in 1889. A severe attach of diptheria prostrated her and left a basis for a complication of diseases under which she suffered for years. Later, she removed to Chicago, where she became a department manager for Marshall Fields. After some years stay in Chicago another stroke of paralysis seized her. She returned to her home, where, for nearly 2 1/2 years she was a patient sufferer under great afflictions. Several physicians sought to aid her but the disease was so difficult for treatment that no healing was given. In her illness she displayed a beautiful spirit of cheer and resignation to God's will. The old hyms of the church were her delight for expressing her heart's desire. She was ready to go as she heard the Lord's call. The funeral services were shared by Rev. H.C. Bradbury and Rev. George McNab. The Lord had need of her, and fitted her by pain for His holy service - G.M.N.
