There being only one ticket in the field, very little interest was taken by our citizens. The total vote polled was 112 and the nominees had the following results: For Mayor, W.H. REES, 97; Jay CORBY, 2; A.M. KENT, 1; Bud JENNINGS, 1. For Police judge, F.D. ADAMS, 97; Councilmen, L.C. CROSS, 100; J.A. GENTLE, 95; J.A. CADY, 95; J.A. SNODDY, 80; R.J. SANDERSON, 90. The ticket elected is composed of men who have the interest of our city at heart, and we have no hesitency in predicting an excellent city government. There were some scratching done in favor of NAYLOR and AUSTIN for councilmen, but we did not learn the number of votes of each. (Note: The Item newspaper was printed in Pleasanton, Kansas.)
