The sad intelligence was received here on Wednesday morning that Dr. J.M.
CARPENTER, of New Lancaster, the evening previous, while laboring under a fit of
insanity, had committed suicide, by cutting his throat with a razor. The doctor
had been in ill health for some time past and it is supposed that was the cause
of his rash deed.
