The Item, Linn County, Friday, September 6, 1895
Died.-- On Friday evening, August 30, 1895, at 9:30 p.m. after a long illness
the sprit of Mrs. Sarah A. CARTER winged its flight to that celestial shore.
Sarah A. CROW was born Nov. 15, 1834 in Randolph county, North Carolina and was
married to John L. Carter in 1860; came to Kansas in 1872. She was united with
the church at the age of fifteen years, and was a devoted Christian worker up to
the time of her death. Brother Carter and family have the heart-felt sympathies
of the community at large in this hour of bereavement.
The remains were interred int he Littell cemetery and the last sad rites were
witnessed by a large concourse of friends. The funeral was preached by Rev. I.B.
Pulliam.
