Hon. B.F. DIGGS, formerly County Clerk of Douglas county and a councilman of the
city of Lawrence, died at that place on Friday of last week. He was born in
Randolph county, Indiana, February, 13, 1827. In 1866 he located at Mound City,
this county, moving to Lawrence about a year later. During his life he was
connected with several different newspapers. He is spoken of as a most excellent
man. The deceased was a brother-in-law of Mr. James P. WAY, of La Cygne, who
attended his funeral Sunday, in Lawrence.
