Garratt, in the 64th year of his age. It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Mr. Garratt, one of our most esteemed citizens, and a gentleman in whom the people reposed a great deal of confidence. His burial was conducted by the Odd Fellows of this place and of Pleasanton, the former of which he was a member for over five years and the latter since the institution of a Lodge at that place. The community in which he lived has lost one of its truest and best friends. The business houses of Pleasanton were closed from 4 to 7 p.m., which was highly commendable, and which went far to show the esteem held for him by her citizens. The funeral services were held by Mr. Armsby of this place. The friends and relatives of the deceased have our heartfelt sympathies in their deep bereavement.
