HENSLEY was born March 12, 1840 in Cole county, Mo., coming with his parents to Bates county, Mo., when a small boy. He was one of the first settlers in Linn county, Kansas. He was married to Lucy A. OGAN, May 25th, 1862 at Old Paris in Linn county. Enlisted in Co. D., 6th Kansas Cav. in the winter of '62, serving until the close of war. Mr. Hensley was a member of the Baptist church and his life was spent serving his master. On February 12, 1898 he passed to that other world, leaving a wife and six children to mourn his demise.
