William JORDAN was born, May 2, 1860, and died at his home in Paris township, of pneumonia, on February 7th, 1900, after at short illness. The subject of this sketch was thrown upon his own resources at a very tender age. He was married three times, his first wife was Miss Sallie SMITH, of near Freeman, Missouri, who died in 1883. On June 25th, 1884 he was married to Mrs. Agnes RASNICK, a widow with one child--Miss Cora Rasnick, of Mound City. Five children were the fruits of this union, one girl and four boys one of which preced his mother to the spirit land but one day, which occured August 15th, 1894, near Archie, Missouri. In 1895 he moved to the Dryden farm in Linville district where he has resided ever since. In 1896, May 20th, he married Mrs. Sarah WOODSON of Bates county, Missouri, by whom he leaves three children to mourn his loss. He was united to the M.E. church in 1895 and has lived steadfast in that faith. He was to be initiated in the M.W.A. of Pleasanton, the night after he died, the said lodge took charge of the funeral which took place from his residence at 2 p.m. An appropriate oration was delivered by Rev. Setliff, of Pleasanton, and he was laid to rest in the Linnville cemetery followed by a large crowd of friends and neighbors. In the loss of Mr. Jordan the community loses a respected citizen and he enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all. To the bereaved family we can only exten our deepest sympathy and remind them of the future meeting in the spirit land where friends and loved ones never part. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/linn/obits/j/jordan327ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 2.2 Kb
