The death of Alfred MAGERS, of Scott township, makes the closing chapter of a good and useful character. Alfred Magers was born November 25, 1825, in Crawford county, Ohio. In March, 1878 he moved to Kansas and located in Scott township near where he resided at the time of his death. He has been in Kansas continually since his first move to the state. Mr. Magers was a member of the Lutheran church and a grand man, always doning unto others as he would wish to be done by. A short time ago he was stricken with paralysis since which time he has been very poorly, and on December 11th the final stroke came which caused the departure of his spirit for that better world. The deceased leaves a wife and ten children to mourn his death and to whom the entire community extend the most profound sympathy. Funeral services were held at the residence on Monday Dec. 13, by Rev. A.D. WOOD, of LaCygne, after which the remains were interred in the Cadmus cemetery.
