The Border Sentinel Linn County Friday February 21, 1873
Died.--At her home, one mile and a half west of Mound City, on Saturday night,
February 15, of consumption, Nettie, wife of A.J. RANNEY, aged 25 years and 8
months.
Mrs. Ranney came to Kansas when but a small child, and has passed through the
many hard and trying times of border warfare, almost from its inception along
this border. She was a young woman with a strong and resolute will, and never
feared to speak her mind upon any subject that interested her. She was an
intelligent lady, a kind mother, and a faithful companion. We condole with the
bereaved in their affliction.
