Miss Lucy TAFT was accidentally drowned while bathing in Middle Creek, near the
residence of J.M. DAY, Liberty township, this county, last Saturday. Two of Mr.
Day's daughters were with her at the time. She ventured in too deep water and
was strangled before held could reach her. She was 17 years of age, a music
teacher of rare accomplishments, a favorite and friend of all who knew her. The
parents of Miss Taft reside in Centerville township. She was buried in Oakwood,
this county, on Sunday. Her sudden death is mourned by many.
