The Item Linn County Friday January 3, 1896


Smith--Brown.--On December 25, 1895, Mr. William SMITH, of Fort Scott, Kas., and
Miss Annie BROWN of this place were quietly married by Rev. White at the home of
the bride's parents, Melchior Brown. Mr. Smith is employed as night clerk at the
Tremont House in Fort Scott. Miss Anna is one of Prescott's most charming young
ladies and she will be missed from the society of the young people of this place
very much. Mr. Smith and lady returned to Fort Scott last Saturday where they
will probably make it their home. We wish them success through their journey of
life. May their joys be many and their sorrows few.
