The case was brought in the style of State of Kansas vs. P. H. SCOTT and the charge preferred was shooting with intent to kill. The prosecution was made by county attorney WILLCOCKSON assisted by A. The case was opened at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and after a portion of the testimony was in an adjournment until 12 o'clock was granted to secure a few important witnesses. Upon the arrival of the overland flyer at midnight, the case was again resumed and at 4 o'clock the justice found the evidence sufficient to warrant him to remand the defendant to jail until district court, under a $500 bond. HOARD, a colored man, at Oakley Friday noon as No. 3 was leaving that town. The porter had put the tramp off the train and as he went to get back on again the tramp drew his revolver and shot him in the back. The porter is not dangerously hurt and the Sheriff has the tramp in custody.
