Stetter TimeTraveler303@aol.com August 17, 2007, 12:01 am The Oakley GRAPHIC, Oakley, Logan County, Kansas January 3, 1890 under "article" heading "SUNNYSIDE" with the correspondent/reporter named "MEHITABLE": Ye scribe is home for a two weeks' vacation. Mrs. J. T. BATES is quite sick this week with neuralgia. Miss McMILLON, of Topeka, visited her sister, Mrs. HOOD, the other day. Quite an interesting literary is held every week at the Belle Prairie school house. E. CAKE returned Saturday from Nebraska as did also John STELGES and Will CLARK. Several from this neighborhood attended the Christmas tree at the Star school house, district 30. They report a very interesting time. Several of our teachers are having vacation during the Holidays, viz: Nettie WILSON, district 41; Kate KETCHUM, district 77; Effie GRAYSON, district 67. The wedding bells rang out their silvery chimes on Christmas eve, the occasion being the marriage of Miss Belle CAIN and Mr. MEISNER. This was quite a surprise to their many friends, all of whom wish them a long and prosperous journey through life. -- MEHITABLE Additional Comments: Source: The Oakley GRAPHIC, Oakley, Logan County, Kansas; Friday, January 3, 1890, Volume 1 Number 7.
