C. L. Cadwalader, was reminded of His 32nd Birthday by His Many Friends.

It was 32 years last Thursday since Charley CADWALADER's mother first took him 
on her knee and Mr. and Mrs. NEGLEY thought it would be a treat to surprise 
Charley and they quietly invited a number of his acquaintances to their 
comfortable country residence three miles west of town.  Quite a number from 
the city and neighborhood were present and in every sense of the word it was a 
surprise for the intended victim and it was quite evident that Mr. and Mrs. 
NEGLEY had very successfully planned the surprise.  Charley didn't know what to 
say or do but finally after the cold sweat had worn off he had the presence of 
mine to put his form into his Sunday coat and came out and assisted the welcome 
company to enjoy themselves.  The evening was very pleasantly spent with music, 
charades and such parlor amusements and then the best of all came when the good 
host and hostess began passing around coffee, sandwiches, cake and sweet meats 
which were relished and made everyone glad they were there.  Much credit is due 
Mr. and Mrs. NEGLEY and we shall be glad to repeat such a visit in the near 
future.
