TRUE was born in Boonville, Cooper county, Mo. on April 3, 1875. She moved with her parents to Elk county while a little girl, then to Ellis Co., Kans. where they homesteaded north of Hays. She was married to John William ALLEN (who's parents also had homesteaded there) in Fairport, Aug. 20, 1891. To this union 11 children were born. They lived around there on a farm until 1911 when they moved to Dickenson Co. where they resided until 1920 then moved to Gove Co. In 1923 they then moved to Boulder, Colo. After an illness of two years Mrs. ALLEN departed this life Nov. 25, 1960 in the Foot Hills Nursing home in Longmont at the age of 85 years seven months and 22 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, eight children. Three sons, Nathen and Ted of Boulder, Colo. Ira, O'Neal, Calif. Five daughters, Mrs. Will (Elsie) LAUER, Loveland, Colo.; Mrs. Bill (Lula) MURRISON, Chapman; Mrs. Bill (Lillie) SCHUMATE, Nevada, Calif.; Mrs. George (Lydia) ECOMONY, Kansas City; Mrs. William (Frances) STEVENSON, Oakley, 45 grandchildren, 90 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Three sisters, Mrs. Sadie BLAKELY, Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Minne REEDER and Mrs. Eda STUDY, LaGrand, Ore., and several nephews and nieces. Her husband preceded her in death on May 8, 1950, and three sons, Herbert in infancy, Leslie in 1945 and Edwin in 1956. Also several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and four brothers, Edwin, Wright, Fredrick and Azel TRUE. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in Boulder with a family reunion in 1941. Ira ALLEN and Lula MURRISON and Lillie SCHUMATE were unable to attend services. Mrs. ALLEN was a member of the Presbyterian church in Boulder, and was very active in the church till her illness. She was also a member of the Priscilla club. Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning, Nov. 29 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel. Dr. Ralph D. EVANS, long time friend, and pastor of the Frist Presbyterian Church, officiated. Burial was in the Mountain View Memorial Park cemetery. She was laid to rest beside her husband. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Her faith was great in what ever she did.
