M. DICKINSON which occurred on last Friday evening at his late home 6 miles south east of McAllaster. His death was sudden and unexpected and was a severe shock to his family and friends. He had been complaining for several years of injuries in the chest occasioned by an accident which occurred many years ago. On the day of his death he got up and went out in the yard, returning in a few moments he complained of severe pains in the breast. He sank on a sofa and although stimulants were administered he expired almost instantly. Mr. D. formerly came from Vermont to central Iowa where he resided for 20 odd years. He removed to his late home one year ago this last spring. He was a good citizen and an industrious and honest man who was respected by his neighbors and loved by his family. He leaves a widow and two sons and three daughters, all grown who were present at his death with the exception of one son who lives in Cherokee county, Kas. The sympathy of this community is extended to the afflicted family. ________________ Source: The Winona CLIPPER, Winona, Logan County, Kansas; July 26, 1888; Volume 1 No. 35, page 1 column 2.
