The Oakley GRAPHIC

Mrs. Prudence Crandall PHILLEO, who is so well known throughout the country 
because of the persecution which she suffered for establishing a school for 
colored pupils in Canterbury, Conn., in September, 1833, died at her home in Elk
Falls, Kansas, at the advanced age of 86 years.
