Marysville Advocate, April 21, 1983
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. tuesday, from the Landreth Thornburg Funeral
Home, Axtell, for Irene Loob, 71.

She died April 16 at the home of a daughter near Marysville.

The Rev. Tom Dolezal officiated.  Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery, Axtell. 
Casket bearers were Bob and Jim Bowhay, Gene Dorrance, Durell Harrison, Kennet
Bergmann and Don Prell.

Irene Marie Loob was born Feb. 24, 1912, at Axtell, the daughter of Albert and
Martha Belden Bowhay.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Axtell.  She was married to
Vincent Loob Nov. 14, 1934, at Axtell.  He survives.

Other survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. Janice Clark of Columbus, Ohio, Jean
Marie Loob, Salina, Mrs. Dianne Schulte and Mrs. Nancy Lee, both of Marysville;
2 sons, Patrick Loob, Lancaster, Texas, and Donald Loob, Basin, Wyo.; a sister,
Mrs. Geraldine Bergmann, Seneca; 2 brothers, Joseph Bowhay, Frankfort, and
Eugene Bowhay, Grand Junction, Colo.; 18 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.

Additional Comments:
My grandmother, Irene, died in the home of Dianne Loob Schulte (my mother), of
cancer.  I was thirteen.  Nancy was also present when she died.
