Harold Johnson

Harold W. JOHNSON, 71, of 1208 Crescent Lane, was dead on arrival at 
McPherson County Hospital this morning.

Mr. JOHNSON was born Sept. 12, 1898, near Conway, son of C. W. and Helena 
BLOOMQUIST JOHNSON, and was married to Loretta ALLEN March 15, 1931, at
McPherson and she survives.  A retired farmer, he had resided in McPherson 19
years, moving here from a farm north of Galva.  He was a member of the New
Gottland Lutheran Church and 50-year member of the Elks Lodge.

Surviving, besides the widow, are a daughter, Mrs. Dale KREBBS, Wichita; four 
brothers, E. Clifford JOHNSON, McPherson, Oscar L. JOHNSON, Lindsborg, 
Windfield, Alcester, S. D., and Waldo, Hominy, Okla., and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Ball and Son Funeral Home.

Johnson Rites

Funeral services for Harold W. JOHNSON, 71, of 1208 Crescent Lane, who died 
last Wednesday were held Saturday morning at the Ball and Son Chapel, Rev. 
Stanley SWANSON officiated.

Mrs. J. Arlyn NELSON sang "In the Garden" and "Children of the Heavenly 
Father."  Mrs. Andrew BERGGREN was organist.

Casket bearers were Wayne D. KOEHN, Ronald SMITH, Roger JOHNSON, Oscar L. 
JOHNSON, Jr., Ray EWY and Marvin BACKABY. (sic)

Interment was at McPherson Cemetery with members of McPherson Elks Lodge No. 
502 assisting in the committal service.


{NOTE:  Name "BACKABY" should have been spelled "BLACKABY"}
