The Osawatomie Graphic, Miami County, Thursday, April 26, 1923 April 26, 1923
One of the Largest Classes.
This year will mark one of the largest classes ever graduated from O.H.S. There
are thirty six boys and girls who will leave O.H.S. with a successful record to
go out and carry on the many problems of this old world.
Perhaps---remember, just perhaps, one of our brilliant boys will be the
president of the United States! You know that is every mother's wish.
The Commercial Department has been a very successful department under the
careful and capable teaching of Mr. Strong. Those who took up this line of work
are:
Lila BEVIS, Helen FITZGERALD, Cecilia LOFTUS, Catherine LOFTUS, Thresa RUSSELL,
Mae WILLIAMS, Dorothy WADE, Myrtle WAGERS, Margaret ACKERLY, Thelma JENKINS,
Charles CASE.
These graduates will be first class stenographers, capable of holding excellent
postions.
Of course teachers are what are needed. Those cross looking cranky personalities
are growing scarce and O.H.S. is doing her duty by sending out five extra good
teachers. They are: Clara McCLINTOCK, Dora HANEY, Alice MALLORY, Hazel BAILIE,
Anna KLOCKMAN.
Those taking the college prepatory courses are scarce, the following being the
only ones so enrolled: Floyd CALLAHAN, John HARVEY, Earl HAVENS.
Those who took a mixed course are : Maude EDEN, Elizabeth KING, Gladys FEE, Ina
PURINTON, Jenness RUHLANDT, Zelma SHEARER, James MAHIN, Helen STANLEY, Nelson
GOETZ, Elwood GRAY, LaVoune GALBRAITH, Raymond GEUY, Blanche DOWNEN,Virginia
BLAUVELT, Dorothy ALFORD,Kenyon ARBOGAST, Merle HYATT.
