Mrs. J.C. ROBERTS departed this life at her home in this city Tuesday, October 14, 1902. Mrs. Roberts was born near Tuscumnia, Miller county, Mo., May 3, 1866, and while quite small was removed to Richland, Mo., with her parents, where she lived for a number of years, when she removed to Altamount, Kan., and while there she became acquainted with J.C. ROBERTS, with whom she was united in marriage on January 18, 1885. During the winter of 1891 they moved to Osawatomie where they have since made their home. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Methodist church in which she was an untiring worker. She died rejoicing in the Christian faith and was perfectly consigned to go, knowing to the end that she was going up yonder to receive her heavenly crown. She leaves a husband, three brothers, and a sister to mourn her departure. Rev. Creager conducted the funeral servivces at ther home Wednesday afternoon in the presence of many of her friends. She was buried in Oakwood cemetery.
