The Osawatomie Journal, Miami County,Friday,February 4, 1897 
Married.
On the 27th inst., at Pleasant View, the residence of Rev. J.A. Iler, the
officiating clergyman, Mr. Alex FARRAN to Miss Bertha, eldest daughter of Deacon
Wallace BLACKSTONE, all of Harrison township. The happy couple tarried over
night at the parsonage and the family of Mr. M.V. BURNS were invited over to
spend the evening and witness the ceremony. Miss Mattie enlivened the occasion
with music and Mr. Burns made merry in his own inimitable manner. Mrs. Burns, as
usual, contributed to the happiness of all around her.
