Sheriff Moses and Jake Moore off to Illinois to Get a Horse Thief. Sheriff MOSES and Jacob MOORE left yesterday morning for Springfield, Ill., with the hope of bringing back with them the thief who stole Mr. Moore's team and buggy last summer and ran it off to Lawrence county, Mo., where the rig was recovered after a great deal of trouble, during which Sheriff Moses was arreseted by the Lawrence couty officials for interfering with the business of the Lawrence county horse stealing ring. The expense of recovery was about as much as the horses and buggy were worth, and the thief made his escape. Mr. Moore was more than willing however, to spend more month to catch the fellow and a sharp look-out has been kept up for him. The sheriff thinks that he has him located at a point in Illinois, and after procuring the necessary papers at Springfield, he and Mr. Moore will go and take a look at the fellow whose description they have, and if Mr. Moore identifies him he will be brought back here for trial.
