The Morning Reporter,Montgomery County,Tuesday, January 22, 1895, January 22, 1895
The wind Sunday night between the hours of 11 p.m. and midnight, blew as though
it might be the tail end of a cyclone, and a good many people were a good deal
alarmed. The big axe sign in front of the Independence Hardware Company's store
cut loose from its moorings, broke two big panes of glass and burst open the
store door, but aside from this no special damage was done.
