Mr. Editor:--For the benefit of the hoodlums, who committed depredations on last Halloween, by removing and carrying off the gates of a number of our citizens, I quote the law, and the penalty thereto attached, and assure them that the law will be vigorously enforced, if repeated. Laws of Kansas, Chap. 31, Sec. 107. Every person who shall willfully, unlawfully and maliciously----pul down, injure or destroy any gate, post, railing or fence, or any part thereof, being the property of another, shall on conviction be adjudged guilty of a misdemeanor. Sec. 118. Every person who shall be convicted of a misdemeanor, as prohibited by this article, the punishment for which is not herein before prescribed, shall be punished by imprisonment in county jail not exceeding one year, or by fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, or both such fine and imprisonment.
