ABELL Dies In Caney. Funeral Services Will Be Held Tuesday. Mary E. ABELL, 84, a resident of Montgomery county for over 60 years. died Sunday morning at 3:10 at the home of a her daughter, Mrs. Aubry FLEENER in Caney after an illness of four weeks. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Joe Carinder Funeral home in Caney with Rev. M.M. Murrell in charge. Burial will be in the Havana cemetery. Mary E. OSBORNE was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, January 27, 1853. She attended the Ottumwa schools and in 1869 she was united in marriage at that place to Henry Clay Abell, who died in 1920. From Iowa the family came to Kansas and settled three miles south of Independence and from that farm they moved to Spring Valley. In 1919 she moved from her farm to her home in Caney. Mrs. Abell had been a member of the Presbyterian church for many years. She was a pioneer of this section and her many friends in the county were grieved in hearing of her death. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Eva BRITTON of Iron Mountain, Michigan; W.C. Abell of McPherson, Kansas; Mrs. Bessie Fleener and Mrs. Bernice JACKSON of Caney. Two daughters preceded her in death. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be: John Green, Charley Thomas, J.W. Hawkins, Wm.
