The Independence Daily Reporter, Montgomery County, Wednesday, July 14, 1943
Pvt. Leonard Crane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry CRANE, of near Dearing, died
recently in a Japanese prison camp, according to word just received by his
parents. Private Crane, who had been in the service about two years, was born in
Bartlett and had many friends and relatives in the vicinity of his home.
