Funeral services were held this afternon at the Fredonia Methodist church, and burial was in the Fredonia cemetery. Mrs. Garland was reared on a claim near Lafontaine and taught for eight years at Union school, near the home of her parents. She was married to H. Garland in 1874, and for a time they lived in Elk City, later moving to Fredonia where he was a prominent merchant. He died in 1932. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Gertrude HARLAN, and one granddaughter, Miss Marjorie HARLAN of Wichita.
