R. Herod. Funeral Services To Be Held Friday Morning. Mrs. A.R. HEROD, 71, 721 East Poplar, and a resident of Independence for 15 years, died last evening at 9 o'clock in Mercy hospital, where she had been undergoing medical treatment. Mrs. Herod had been in ill health for sometime but had not been seriously ill until Saturday, May 22. Mrs. Herod with her late husband and family came to Independence in 1922 from Thayer. Mr. Herod died in 1924. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 from the Potts funeral home and burial will be in the Thayer cemetery. Rev. R.O. Penick of the first Methodist church will be in charge. Mrs. Herod is survived by two daughters, Misses Attie and Anna Herod; one granddaughter, Miss Alice KILHAM of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of this city; three sisters, Mrs. George ENSCH of Independence, Mrs. Kate HOFFMAN and Mrs. M.F.
