Jarvais. Body of Rural Resident Is Taken to Chanute. Mrs. Roy C. JARVAIS, 30, a resident of rural Independence for four years and a native of Caney, died this morning at 3 o'clock at her home four miles east of Independence after having been ill since May. Her death was attributed to tuberculosis. Hazel Clem Brubaker was born in Caney in 1907. In 1927 at Columbus, Kansas, she was united in marriage to Roy C. Jarvais and to this union were born two sons. In 1933 the Jarvais family moved to Independence from Arkansas City. Surviving are the husband and two sons, Richard, 5, and Junioir, 9, all of the home; her father, Celm Brubaker, of Chanute and three brothers, Harry of Washington; Wallace of Chanute and Dean of California. Her mother passed away 18 months ago at Chanute. Mrs. Jarvais had been a member of the Lutheran church for several years.
