Dies at Home of Brother After Long Illness. Albert E. MILLER, 67, brother of Fred H. Miller, died at his brother's home, 1605 West Maple this morning at 1:00 o'clock of an illness that had kept him in poor health for the past 14 years. He had been in Mercy hospital for the last five weeks until Saturday when he was returned to the home. He was born June 4, 1876, near Quincy, Ill. His parents, Wm. George and Mary Miller, are both deceased. He resided in Paola, Kansas, for seven years until he moved to Chanute at the age of 27 where he worked as a carpenter until he came to Independence a year ago. It was in Paola that he met and married Maggie SHERMAN on July 4, 1903. She died ten years ago. They at one time lived in Kansas City before moving to Chanute. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Mary RUTLEDGE, address unknown; Mrs. Henriette OLSON, Chanute; Mrs. Frieda TOWNSEND, Chanute; Miss Alberta MILLER, Kansas City; three sons, Sherman MILLER, Kansas City; Robert MILLER, Kansas City; Albert jr., Joplin, Mo. Four brothers survive, Charles, Los Angeles, Calif.; Fred, Independence, George, Independence and William, Kansas City. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but burial will be at the Chanute cemetery. Potts Funeral home has charge of the body.
