The Morning Reporter,Montgomery County,Thursday, January 10, 1895,
Gertie MITCHELL, fourteen years of age, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Mitchell, died at 3 a.m. yesterday of heart failure following diphtheria. She
was taken with diphtheria on Christmas day, but had so far recovered as to be
thought out of danger, but a relaxation of vigilence and care resulted in her
taking cold on Tuesday with the above result, which was sudden and unexpected.
The funeral took place at 3 p.m. yesterday.
