Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Service. Howard Mullens, 65, of 1511 W. 6th, was found dead in his home on Sunday, February 22, 1987. He was born August 18, 1921, in Coffeyville to John Franklin and Nellie Hannah (Glenn) Mullens. He attended Coffeyville schools and then entered the U. S. Army in 1942. He served in New Guinea and the southern Phillipines and was discharged in 1945. Mr. Mullens returned to Coffeyville and in 1946 married Faye Murray. Mrs. Mullens died in 1980. Mr. Mullens worked at the Truck Stop on South Walnut for 30 years, retiring for health reasons. Survivors include two brothers, LeRoy of Claremore, Oklahoma and Jerome Clare of Conroe, Texas; and two sisters, Genieva Miller of 1307 Dale and Opal McCay of Claremore. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Edgewood Chapel to sign the register. The casket will be closed.
