Wheeler. Funeral Services Sunday At Jefferson. Edwin Myers WHEELER, 94, pioneer resident of the Jefferson vicinity, died yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at his home. He had been in ill health for the past five years, and had suffered a paralytic stroke three weeks ago. Mr. Wheeler had lived on the same farm for 60 years, and had been active in civic affairs at Jefferson. For many years he was a rural correspondent for the Southeast Kansas Tribune. Funeral services will be held at the Jefferson Methodist church Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, with Elder N.G. Aalborg of the Fort Scott Latter Day Saints church, and Elder E.F. Coy of Independence, officiating. Burial will be at Point cemetery near Tyro by the Potts funeral directors. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Wheeler; two sons, Roy C. of Berkeley, Calif., and Robin G. of Mill Valley, Calif., and five grandchildren. Two daughters, and a son preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Clara Broadbent Wheeler, who died in 1924. Mr. Wheeler was born September 4, 1848, at Cortland, Mich., and came to Kansas in 1870. His marriage ot Hattie DeLONG took place in 1927 at Independence. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
