Young. Dies Monday Night; Rites To Be Held Wednesday. William H. YOUNG, 45, died at 6 o'clock last night in Mercy hospital as a result of burns which he received yesterday when he tried to start a fire with the use of coal oil. He was employed here as a general laborer. The deceased was born in Ft. Smith, Ark., on March 13, 1898. He later went to Redland, Okla., where he lived until 29 years of age; then he came to Independence. In 1925, he was married to Miss Ruth CAMPBELL in Chotau, Oka. She died in December, 1928. He later married Erma OWENS in 1933. She died in 1941. Survivors include his children, Mrs. Henrietta FLOYD of this city and Bobby Joe YOUNG and Willie Eugene YOUNG of Tulsa; two brothers, Charlie YOUNG of Parsons, and Herbert YOUNG, of Tulsa, and two sisters, Mrs. Lula VANN and Mrs. Florence BERRY of Independence. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Wednesday in the chapel of the Rodrick Funeral home. Burial in Mt. Hope cemetery.
