Galesburg Enterprise, Friday, March 10, 1899
George Bain, better known as Father Bain, died at his home six miles south of 
Galesburg Saturday morning, aged 82 years. Funeral services were held at 
Valley church Sunday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Summers officiating. He was one of the 
early settlers of Ladore and was an honored and respected citizen. The remains 
were laid to rest in the Valley cemetery.
