Mr. Ball was in town yesterday evening apparently well and happy as usual, but upon returning home he complained of not feeling well, and while Mat Johnson, who has been working with Mr. Ball this summer, was eating supper Johnnie went out to milk. Mr. Johnson soon followed and in taking the milk to the milk house found Mr. Ball lying near that place, dead. The funeral will occur between 5 and 6 o'clock this afternoon. He leaves two daughter both living in Tennessee and a sister also residing in the east. Mr. Ball was of English descent and about 50 years of age. He had visited in England upon two different occasions and had several large amounts of money left to him by wealthy relatives in England. He was an early settler of this community and notwithstanding his odd character his sudden death will be a source of grief to all who knew him.
