The Melvern Review Osage County Thursday May 13, 1920 May 13, 1920
Some two or three weeks ago a well dressed woman with a three months old baby in
her arms stopped at the home of Mrs. Rose SMITH in Kansas and asked if she might
leave her baby a little while until she did some shopping. The request was
granted, of course, and after she had waited a little while, then another little
while, and several little whiles that totaled three days the authorities were
notified and the unfortunate little one was taken to the Home. The child was
lucky to get rid of such a mother so early in life.
