Joe ATCHISON, living six miles west of Olivet, is reported to have been seriously ill the past two week with what blood tests indicate to be tularemia or rabbit fever, states the Lyndon Herald. The disease is believed to have been caused by a bite from a coon which Mr. Atchison shot while hunting. The coon was wounded and bit Mr. Atchison on the hand so severely that he was forced to sit on the animal and choke it to make it release its hold. The wounded hand has given Mr. Atchison much trouble but his conditioin is said to be improved.
