Mrs. Elizabeth BRYAN, aged 83 years, died at her home in West Holiday street, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 18, 1928, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Bryan's death occured a day and a half after the death of her friend Mrs. Mary Ashbaugh, who passed away on Monday. In the passing of Mrs. Bryan another pioneer woman has gone to her reward. Mrs. Bryan came to Kansas in 186? from Ohio, and with her husband and family located in Osage county on a farm south of Osage City. Mrs. Bryan was one of the first women to locate near Osage City and came to Kansas in a covered wagon. She saw the town when but a vast wilderness, without a railroad running through town and there was not a house or store in sight, but through all the hardship which goes to make a new country she stood the test and was in every sense of the word a true "pioneer mother." She is survived three sons, five daughters, and other relatives and a large circle of friends. --Osage City Free Press. ==== KS-FOOTSTEPS Mailing List ==== File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ks/osage/obits/b/bryan246ob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.poppet.org/ksfiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
