Montgomery Bryden.

Montgomery BRYDEN was born in Kilgramme, Ayeshire, Scotland, Febuary 22, 1840,
and died at Christ's Hospital, Topeka, Kansas, August 25 1927, aged eighty seven
years, six months and three days.
Mr. Bryden was married to Mary MADDEN in Scotland on December 31, 1860 and to
them were born ten children.
They moved from Scotland to America in 1870. they located in West Virginia and
some years later moved to Indiana. In 1887 they moved to Scranton, Kansas, where
they made their home until the day of their death.
Mrs. Bryden was in ill health many years before she died. In all her illnes
health she was cared for most tenderly by her loving husband. She was taken form
him on November 25, 1904. 
There were ten children born into this home. Foru have already passed into the
Great Beyond. The six that remain were with him in his last sickness. They are
Mrs. D.C. PLYLEY, Mrs. Peter BROWN, W.J. BRYDEN, of Topeka, Kansas; Mrs. O.D.
WILSON of Fredonia, Kansas; Mrs. Hugh Bryden of Lyndon; Mr. T. M. Bryden of
Pratt, Kansas. 
Mr. Bryden was a man of deep convictions. His faith found expression in the
deeds of his life from day to day. In his early manhood he joined the
Presbyterian church and was a faithful and consistent Christian all the days of
his life. His loyalties were deep and abiding. He was loyal to his Christ, to
his nation, to his home and to his friends. Many friends will regret his passing
away, but will rejoice in the coronation that awaits a life well lived.
