The end came peacefully and quietly. Julia Ann Courtright, nee Jacobs, was born in Fulton county, New York, March 5, 1814 being 80 years, 6 months, and 4 days old at the time of her death. She was married to John Courtright in 1747[sic] and soon after removed to Rooks county Wisconsin, where her children were born. The family removed to Kansas in 1871 and two years later Mr. Courtright died. She leaves six children living, one by a former husband, Mrs. Sophronia Spike of Wisconsin, one in Oklahoma, Joseph; Mrs. John Christian of Pomona, Franklin county, this state; Mrs. David R. Griffiths, John and James, the latter three residing in Scranton. Mrs. Court- right was converted to the Baptist failth at the age of 14 and up to the time of her death a member of that church. She died with the full assurance that a home was prepared for her. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. David Griffiths, the services being conducted by Rev. Geo. Wilson. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family in their affliction. Card of Thanks We desire to extend our sincere thanks to the many kind friends who so kindly assisted during the sickness and at the funeral of our late beloved mother. MRS DAVID R. GRIFFITHS MRS. JOHN CHRISTMAN MRS. As the sons are compeled to be in the pit all day, and fearful of leaving her along they would like to make arrangements with some reliable person to remain with her during their absence.
